Cornelius Louwrens
CEO NLMK Europe
Cornelius Louwrens serves as the CTO of NLMK International (2020) and CEO of NLMK Europe. In his capacity as CEO of NBH/NLMK Europe, he also sits on the Management Board of NLMK International BV. Additionally, he is tasked with driving operational efficiency across all NLMK sites in the EU and USA.
With over 20 years of experience in senior roles within some of the world's leading steel companies, Cornelius Louwrens brings a wealth of expertise to his current positions.
He earned a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pretoria (South Africa) in 1990, and furthered his education with degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa (2000), and Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, USA (2007). Before his current roles, Cornelius Louwrens held positions at Tata Steel, ArcelorMittal, and Saldanha Steel, and has served as Director of Operational Efficiency at NLMK International B.V. since mid-2016.
