NLMK Clabecq

Located in Ittre, Belgium, NLMK Clabecq produces steel plates of various thicknesses ranging from 3 to 64 mm for construction, shipbuilding, energy industries, transport and yellow goods, quarrying and mining equipment manufacturers. Its current production capacity is 350,000 tonnes a year.

The plant offers medium and heavy plates, floor plates well known for their exceptional surface properties such as flatness and tight thickness tolerances. This is the result of impressive expertise combined with unique production equipment, including a reversible quarto mill and a continuous finishing mill with four independent stands on the same line.

Thanks to its recent investments, including an accelerated cooling system and a quenching and tempering unit (Q&T) which has just been commissioned, NLMK Clabecq is well established as a key player in the niche markets of line pipes, abrasion resistant steels (QUARD), high yield strength steels (QUEND), and pressure vessel steels.

The plant is located close to the port of Antwerp and at the center of a major European motorway network, enabling the sales of its plates to the four corners of the world, with a third of sales destined for locations outside Europe.
