NLMK Europe Plate’s lower-CO₂ steel portfolio 

NLMK Europe Plate is taking concrete steps to reduce the carbon footprint of its products and provide customers with lower-CO₂ steel solutions. Based on steel produced through the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) route with a high share of recycled scrap, NLOOP offers a significantly lower product carbon footprint while maintaining the quality and performance our customers expect.

A different route to a lower carbon footprint

The carbon footprint of steel is strongly influenced by the way it is produced.

NLOOP is based on steel produced through the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) route with a high share of recycled scrap. By using recycled steel as a major raw material, the EAF route provides an opportunity to significantly reduce the carbon footprint compared with conventional primary steelmaking routes.

NLOOP Pressure Vessel Steel combines a lower product carbon footprint with the performance requirements of demanding pressure applications, including pressure vessels, storage tanks and spheres, boilers, heat exchangers and energy equipment.

Tool Steel

Our VR Tool Steel range is produced through the EAF route and forms part of the NLOOP portfolio. It provides solutions for demanding tooling applications, including plastic moulds, hot- and cold-work tooling and metal cutting tools.
