New rolling mill
The sole Danish steel plate producer creates growth
DanSteel A/S are pleased to inform that the plan for a new rolling mill is now a reality. The delivery contract has been signed and according to the plan, the new rolling mill will be implemented in August/ September 2012.
A new rolling mill means an increase in production, with the product range becoming wider and the capacity in the long term larger. The new rolling mill is of type 4200, which means that in future it will be possible to produce plates up to 4 meters wide. DanSteel A/S’s new rolling mill will once it finished be the most modern rolling mill in Europe.
This multi-million worth investment means a preservation of Danish jobs, ensuring that a unique knowledge remains on Danish soil thus being an advantage for the Danish industry.
DanSteel A/S’ plates are, among other things, used for wind turbines on shore and off shore, ships, boilers, yellow goods and bridges.
As the implementation is scheduled to be in progress during summer shut down period 2012, the production and delivery to our customers will not be affected.
The investment costs amount to more than 600 million DKK. SMS Siemag AG, Germany, is selected as the supplier.
